According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in a move for Tottenham loanee Timo Werner alongside Fulham and West Ham United.

Despite struggling during his stint at Chelsea, the 28-year-old has found his feet at Tottenham Hotspur with a tally of two goals and two assists in seven Premier League appearances wearing the Lilywhites.

The Red Devils have been enduring a laborious time scoring goals this season with only 39 goals in the Premier League. To put that into context, relegation-bound Luton Town has scored forty-one.

In comes Timo Werner, who despite being a striker has featured on the left flank for Tottenham as well as RB Leipzig and has been making an impact with his structural understanding as well as high pressing complemented by defensive backtracking. Moreover, his runs behind the defensive line can cause problems as it unlock options on vertical passes.

Tottenham faithful are calling for a permanent arrival of the 28-year-old having been impressed by his performances since his arrival on loan in January. Many believe that he will get better and more confident with time as he continues his development under Ange Postecoglou.

Manchester United are looking to take advantage of Werner’s situation as Leipzig as they can dispense him with opportunities within the offensive rotation of the team. Although no offer has been made yet these are just headlines from rumour mills.

The German international comes as a cheap alternative to the abundance of striking options available in the current market which provides room for Erik ten Hag & Co. to invest in different positions of the squad rather than buying one or two big names.

These are just talks of the papers, we will need to see how these progress and how his situation develops at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from now until the end of the season.
