The Brazilian’s difficulties in Erik ten Hag’s system have fueled rumours about a potential exit when the ongoing season sees its conclusion. He has been paired with an 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo at Old Trafford lately and the Manchester United academy graduate has outshined Casemiro in terms of taking control of the game.

If Sir Jim Ratcliffe & Co. were to move Casemiro on, they are already looking to bring in Exequiel Palacios to take the 32-year-old’s spot on Red Devil’s roster. United also expressed interest in Palacios five years ago when he was still a River Plate youngster and United sent scouts to have a look at a then 20-year-old playing against Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores.

As Bayer Leverkusen continue their invincible chasing season at the apex of the Bundesliga, many European clubs have started laying red carpets for talents in Xabi Alonso’s Bayer assets. Exequiel Palacios is said to be one of those players.

The Argentine World Cup winner has improved in abundance under Xabi’s tutelage and boasts a tally of eight direct goal contributions despite being a defensive midfielder.

Manchester Reds are said to admire the 25-year-old and are already speaking with Leverkusen about a possible transfer in the summer.
