There have been a profusion of changes on the backroom faces at Old Trafford since the introduction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the new co-owner of Manchester United. The Pharma billionaire continues to stamp his authority at Carrington.

One of the contemplated changes is the arrival of Dan Ashworth to Old Trafford as the negotiations with Newcastle United continue.

There has reportedly been progress in conversation with his current employers about any possibilities to land the former Brighton man ahead of his conclusion of gardening leave which is expected to run to the end of January 2026, according to the Shields Gazette, though Newcastle United are refusing to release Dan from his contract at St. James Park unless a £21million fee is paid.

The sum is viewed as astronomical by the chiefs at Carrington and the Toons have refused to budge on their asking price as there is no reported release clause in Dan Ashworth’s contract at Tyneside.

Ben Jacobs admitted speaking to GIVEMESPORT that the arrival of Dan Ashworth to Manchester United is in no doubt, it’s just the process can be fast-tracked if a compromise is reached between the clubs.

Jacobs speaking to GIVEMESPORT:

“If Manchester United get to a point where they are prepared to wait, whether it gets done today, tomorrow or next week becomes less relevant because they have got more time.”

“Everyone knows that Dan Ashworth will end up at Manchester United. His move to Old Trafford isn’t really in any doubt, otherwise Newcastle wouldn’t have announced that he was leaving.”

“It’s just a case of ironing out the club-to-club negotiations, and I eventually expect a compromise to be reached.”

Jacobs claims were reiterated by Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, who understands that Manchester Reds want to have Dan Ashworth’s services at their disposal ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Speaking with GIVEMESPORT, Sheth said:
