Manchester United were heavily linked with the player this summer, but a deal could not be materialized.

Borussia Dortmund sacked their manager Lucian Favre after the club lost 5-1 at home to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund started the season strongly but the defeat last weekend saw them go 5th on the table, with just 1 win from their last 5 league matches.
After an astounding 17 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga last season, the ex-Manchester City youth prospect has failed to find the net in 9 Bundesliga games this season. (h/t transfermarkt)
Sancho, however, has 3 assists so far in the league. He has also been fairly impressive in the UEFA Champions League and DFB Pokal, where he has 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 matches.
Manchester United fans have witnessed a slight decline in their team’s goal-scoring form in recent weeks. The Red Devils are the only team in the top 8 of the Premier League who haven’t scored 20 goals so far this season.
In that regard, it is understandable why United fans got excited at the news of Favre’s sacking as they theorised a possible move for Sancho in the winter.
