“UEFA has some problems with us” – Some fans react as Man United discover Europa League opponents

Fans react as Manchester United draw Real Sociedad in the Europa League

Manchester United have been drawn against Real Sociedad in the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League.

The Red Devils will take part in the continent’s second-tier competition after finishing in their Champions League group stage.

Both clubs have met just twice in a competitive capacity in their history. Both games came in the Champions League in 2013/14. We won the game at home while drawing the return fixture 0-0.

Sociedad will be a tricky opponent given their success this season. They are currently on top of the Spanish La Liga albeit having played extra games. The fixture will see us come up against an old nemesis in David Silva.

Participating in the Europa League was not what we had in mind given how we started off our European adventure this season. However, now that we are in it, we might as well improve upon our semifinal run last season.

United last won the competition in 2017. If we perform to our ability, there is no reason why we cannot repeat it this season.
