Manchester United star Rasmus Højlund complained to Erik ten Hag about Bruno Fernandes earlier in the season
According to the Daily Mail, Rasmus Højlund complained to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag about Bruno Fernandes earlier in the season.
The young Dane, currently in his debut season at Old Trafford, had issues with the lack of balls the Portuguese was supplying to him.
There was another instance of discontent when Højlund clashed with Fernandes’ compatriot and teammate Diogo Dalot in November during United’s 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen. Bruno took Dalot’s side in this case, further frustrating the young striker.
It has been a baptism of fire for the Denmark international in his first year in England amid another turbulent year for Man United.
The Red Devils are again in the news this week for the wrong reasons on the back of a disastrous performance against Championship side Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final, despite winning the game.
With six league games left to play and Champions League hopes all but over, Man United host Sheffield United in their next fixture on Wednesday.
An unhelpful story surfacing at an unfortunate time
Dressing room discontent stories have again been a dime a dozen this year at Old Trafford. Not surprising, given things have not gone well on the pitch.
That this story has emerged months after the incident having taken place further reflects poorly on Ten Hag, who has had difficulty dealing with his players all season, Jadon Sancho being the most high-profile example here.

With the season coming to an end, it is looking increasingly likely that Erik ten Hag will be shown the exit door at the end of the season regardless of what happens in the final seven games.
