Alvaro Fernandez sends farewell message to Real Madrid ahead of Manchester United switch

According to MEN, Spanish youngster Alvaro Fernandez has sent a message of thanks to Real Madrid ahead of his switch to Manchester United.

The 17-year-old defender will join United’s academy on a four-year deal. He becomes the latest promising youngster to move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have already signed Sunderland striker Joe Hugill while Barcelona full-back Marc Jurado is also en route.

Fernandez joined Real Madrid from Deportivo La Coruna in 2017. He failed to agree on new terms with Los Blancos and will be included in United’s youth intake for the 2020/21 season

The youngster took to Instagram to convey his gratitude to his current club for his time there.

“I have made the decision to leave this great club, I wanted to thank all my teammates, and the entire coaching staff of Real Madrid, for making me a better person and footballer, it has been a real pleasure to wear this shirt, and represent this shield.”
