Manchester United hopeful of announcing three new players

According to MEN, Manchester United are hopeful of announcing three new academy players ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Red Devils had announced their academy intake for 2020-21 last week. It confirmed the signing of Joe Hugill from Sunderland and Radek Vitek from Sigma Olomouc.

It appears that they are not the only new kids on the block. United are awaiting international clearance for Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez, and Isak Hansen-Aaroen.

Marc Jurado will swap Barcelona for Manchester United

The former two are joining the club from Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively. Jurado is a 16-year-old who has been at the famed La Masia academy for the last nine years. Although the Catalans were keen to keep him, his head was turned by United’s advances.

Spanish youngsters Arnau Puigmal and Mateo Mejia were also brought in by the club from La Masia but Jurado remains the biggest name of the trio.

Fernandez, on the other hand, joined Real Madrid from Deportivo La Coruna in 2017. He failed to agree on new terms with Los Blancos and looks set to be included in United’s youth intake for next season.

Alvaro Fernandez is also on his way to Old Trafford

Hansen-Aaoren is a promising Norwegian youngster. He made history when he became Tromso’s youngest-ever player at the age of 15 years and 319 days earlier this month.

An aggressive recruitment strategy

Former academy head Nicky Butt adopted an aggressive pursuit of talented young players from across the globe. Tahith Chong, Charlie McCann, France youth international Aliou Traore, Puigmal, Largie Ramazani and Harvey Neville were some of the high-profile arrivals on his watch.

Even after he left his position, the club have continued to chase the best young talents. Monaco youngster Hannibal Mejbri and Ajax Amsterdam starlet Dillon Hoogewerf also joined the club’s ranks last summer.

More Manchester United News

United are making it a point to snare the best young talents from around the world. The fact that we managed to bring in players from even Real Madrid and Barcelona is a testament to our pull and ambition.

Hopefully, a number of them make the step up to the senior level and repay the club’s faith in them.
