The Borussia Dortmund star has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer. However, Dortmund’s refusal to lower their asking price has seen the negotiations lead nowhere.

Dortmund not only extended Sancho’s contract until 2023 but delaying a move until next summer could draw in Barcelona and Real Madrid to bid for the player.

Such interest would benefit Dortmund who are keen to secure top dollar for their star winger. United, however, will suddenly go from having a clear field to a three-way tussle to secure the coveted 20-year-old.

According to the report, The Red Devils believe the development has been staged by Dortmund to force United’s hand this summer.

The club is not willing to spend more than £80million on Sancho. It pales with respect to Dortmund’s valuation worth £100million.

United believe their valuation is a fair price given the financial condition today. Teams around the world have been hit adversely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With thee years left on his contract, Dortmund are under no pressure to sell. Also, if Sancho keeps improving, there will be no shortage of bidders come next summer.

Ed Woodward has a decision to make. Every United fan will be watching on with bated breath.
