Berbatov claims Jadon Sancho should jump at chance to join Man Utd

According to a report by The Sun, former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that Jadon Sancho should jump at the chance to join the club.

The young Englishman, who left Manchester City to join the Bundesliga giants, has blossomed into a top-class footballer. He has been a widely sought-after figure and United are also in the race to sign him (h/t The Sun).

The 20-year-old has also attracted interest from Chelsea (h/t The Sun), meaning a tussle could break out as far as signing him is concerned. Clubs would need to shell out a fee in the region of £120m to acquire his services.

Speaking about the transfer links, Berbatov said: “In his case, because he’s English and Man Utd are in for you, I don’t think he will think twice about moving there.”

He went on to laud Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his work at United since taking charge and claimed that signing Sancho would be great for the team.

Touching upon the subject of the England national squad, Berbatov suggested that Gareth Southgate would be able to keep a better eye on him if he moves to Manchester United in the next transfer window.

Adding that every player often wants to return to his home country after playing abroad, the United icon said, “When that happens to be England and the Premier League, you’re going to jump at the chance if the right team comes in for you.”

Sancho is a brilliant footballer and there is absolutely no doubt about that. It won’t be easy to sign him but if we succeed, the deal would be a major statement of intent by Solskjaer.
