Manchester United are ‘horrible to watch’ proclaims pundit after they repeat 1989-90 feat after losing to Nottingham Forest
Not many could believe it when Manchester United lost the game to Nottingham Forest yesterday. Pundit Jamie Redknapp was particularly angry and even went on to say that the team was ‘horrible to watch’.
How much truth is in that statement is yet to be seen. We have seen that the Red Devils are capable of beating teams like Aston Villa and Liverpool. So why is it that they have dropped games against teams like Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest?
This lack of consistency that Erik Ten Hag’s team displays is a serious issue. It can however be attributed to the team’s injury struggles. Ever so often the Dutchman hasn’t been able to field the same lineup two games in a row due to injuries.
But injuries are a part of the game and everyone must deal with them. It is not an excuse for Manchester United to lose nine out of their first 20 Premier League games. The last time they recorded such a feat was during the 1989-90 season.
Let’s have a look at what Jamie Knapp had to say about the Old Trafford squad. (h/t Squawka)
“They are horrible to watch, they’ve got no real appetite, desire.”
Gary Neville also chimed in with his views on Man United. He pointed out that for some reason a club like the Red Devils is often inferior to teams lower down the league than them.
Their last game surely was disappointing for Manchester United fans. Time and time again we saw the team come close to scoring but the players ultimately failed to capitalise on all but one of their chances.
