Boss of Manchester United’s Premier League rival backs Red Devils’ star subject to media backlash

Manchester United are set to take on Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Forest chief Nuno Espirito Santos had some words of encouragement for the Red Devils’ skipper Bruno Fernandes.

The 29-year-old midfielder has played a key role for the Old Trafford squad this season. Over 25 appearances he has recorded five goals and five assists for the team (transfermarkt).

If it wasn’t for his contributions there is no telling just how far Manchester United would have fallen this season. Erik Ten Hag surely is grateful for the work that the Portuguese midfielder has been putting in.

While speaking about the player the Forest chief said that all fellow professionals should look at him as an example. He seems to be extremely impressed by what Bruno Fernandes has been doing for his rivals this season.

Let’s have a look at what else he had to say (h/t Mirror)

“I don’t want to say too much but he’s definitely one of the best players in the Premier League. He’s so competitive.”

Bruno Fernandes sure is one of the most ‘competitive’ guys out there in the Premier League. Many times when Manchester United concede the team starts giving up. Such a change is not usually seen in the skipper.

Nuni Espirito Santo was also dead on about this statement about Fernandes getting far too much criticism from the media. He then went on to say that the player is well-loved and respected in Portugal.
