Alan Shearer says Manchester United star would have felt ‘relief’ after one moment in Aston Villa clash

Alan Shearer highlights a moment where Manchester United star must have felt ‘relief’ during the game against Aston Villa

Alan Shearer believes Wednesday’s game against Aston Villa must have brought ‘relief’ to Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker grabbed his first Premier League goal against the Villans.

That wasn’t the only highlight of his performance. He might not have seen a lot of the ball, but he did make good use of it. Hojlund ended the game with one goal scored, 12/12 passes completed and 6 recoveries (fot.mob).

Alan Shearer had some words of encouragement for the Danish striker. While talking on the subject of the 20-year-old, it seemed like he was happier about his goal than even the player was.

Let’s have a look at what the former Newcastle United forward had to say. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

“Hojlund, who got his first Premier League goal, you could see the relief on his face. I thought he was going to burst when he was doing his celebrations and rightly so because you can imagine the pressure, unfairly at times because we’ve said it, he should be in and out.”

Shearer went on to say that he believes Hojlund has been playing way more than he should be. This might sound a little weird because the player himself has never spoken out in this manner.

It wasn’t just Rasmus Hojlund who shined bright for Manchester United against Aston Villa. Alejadro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Bruno Fernandes were all equally important for The Red Devils’ comeback effort.

Overall, the 20-year-old must be delighted with himself. Now that he isn’t constantly under pressure to score a goal, fans can look forward to a rejuvenated Rasmus Hojlund who will be playing more freely.

With January on the horizon Manchester United have some big changes coming up. The team must make the right moves this next month.

Any hopes of a top 4 Premier League finish will soon diminish if the Red Devils miss the mark during the transfer window.
