West Ham United offer for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay rejected
Manchester United have rejected a £30 million offer from West Ham United to acquire the services of Scott McTominay this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The Hammers are interested in getting a hold of the Scotland international’s future in the ongoing transfer window. However, their proposal has been snubbed by the Red Devils.
Now, it is up to the Irons to decide whether they want to put in another bid for the midfielder. Apart from the 26-year-old. The London Stadium side are also in talks with the Old Trafford side for Harry Maguire.
McTominay made his way through the youth ranks at United. Subsequently, in the last few years, the midfielder has been a key member of the Manchester-based club’s senior squad.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Scottish national was one of the first names on the team sheet. He had formed a partnership with Fred in the Red Devils’ engine room.
However, with the arrival of Erik ten Hag, McToominay’s game time has dwindled. In the previous campaign, the midfielder made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Old Trafford side. But he started in just 10 matches in the Premier League.
Last summer, we signed Christian Eriksen on a free transfer and Casemiro joined from Real Madrid. Over the course of the 2022/23 term, the Danish and Brazilian nationals were the go-to players for the gaffer in the engine room.
As a result, McTominay found himself on the bench most often. However, the midfielder put in adequate performances when he was called upon by the Dutch manager to cover in the engine room.

We have added Mason Mount from Chelsea to our ranks recently. However, strength in depth will evidently be key going into next season. In the previous campaign, the Old Trafford side had to get Marcel Sabitzer on loan in January to bolster the midfield. Therefore, it would be wise to keep the Scottish national for now.
