Tottenham Hotspur make €24 million offer to FC Porto for Manchester United-linked Mehdi Taremi
Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have made a €24 million offer to FC Porto for Manchester United-linked Mehdi Taremi, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio via Spanish outlet Fichajes.com.
Spurs have the Iran international on their radar in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the North London side have made a bid to sign him. However, the Portuguese outfit are expected to hold out for €30 million.
As things stand, Tottenham have Harry Kane in their ranks. The English skipper has been the Lilywhites’ talisman for several years now. However, Ange Postecoglou is not guaranteed the forward’s services ahead of next season.
At the moment, the 30-year-old is being associated with a move away from the North London side. It is more than likely that the striker will leave this summer amidst interest from Bayern Munich.
Therefore, it makes sense that Tottenham are looking at options to bolster their front line. However, apart from the North London side, the Red Devils and AC Milan are also keeping tabs on Taremi.
In the summer of 2020, Porto got a hold of the Iranian’s signature from Rio Ave. Since then, the striker has showcased his prolificity at the Estadio do Dragao.
In the 2022/23 term, Taremi was pivotal to the Primeira Liga outfit’s plans. He found the back of the net 31 times and provided 14 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions for them.
At United, we have gotten the much-needed addition of Rasmus Hojlund to our ranks from Atalanta. However, with Anthony Martial’s injury record over the last year, we could evidently do with another striker in our ranks.

Taremi is an experienced head. While the English top flight is a tough league to crack for a new player, having someone like the Iranian to call upon from the bench would seemingly not be a bad option.
