OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo and Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite on Manchester United radar
Manchester United have their eyes on OGC Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo and Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, according to the Daily Mail (h/t The Sun).
In the ongoing transfer window, we have already signed Mason Mount and Andre Onana. The Red Devils are also close to acquiring the services of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
However, Erik ten Hag wants to strengthen the squad further, particularly the defence. To that end, the Old Trafford side have been keeping tabs on Todibo and Branthwaite.
The French national has caught the attention of Man United with his performances in the last few months. As for the English national, his displays out on loan at PSV Eindhoven in the previous campaign impressed the Manchester-based club’s scouts.
Todibo has been at Nice since 2021. Over the years, the 23-year-old has grown from strength to strength and has developed into a quality centre-back. After failing to make a mark at Barcelona, the French national has come into his own in Ligue 1.
As for Branthwaite, after breaking out at Carlisle United, Everton came calling for his services. However, after failing to get enough game time at the Toffees, the 21-year-old went to PSV and enjoyed a fruitful season.
At Man United, the backline is currently stacked. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have formed an impressive partnership under Erik ten Hag. Victor Lindelof has also served as a capable backup.
We also have Harry Maguire in our ranks. However, the England international has been linked with a move away this summer, with West Ham United interested. Eric Bailly and Jonny Evans are also not expected to be a part of the squad next season.

Therefore, in case of multiple departures, the Red Devils will evidently need to add reinforcement in their backline. However, it remains to be seen whether Todibo or Branthwaite will be pursued by the Old Trafford side.
