Former Manchester United keeper David de Gea rejects the opportunity to replace Andre Onana at Inter Milan
As per Daily Record (h/t Metro), David de Gea has rejected a chance to replace the new Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana at Inter Milan.
De Gea, who left the Red Devils for free after his contract expired this summer, is available for a transfer during this window.
The report reveals that Inter made an offer of wages of around £83,000-per-week, but the Spaniard has put a halt to those negotiations as he wants to move to a Spanish club. Options there are limited though.
It is natural for the Italian side to look for a new keeper after letting go of Onana to United for a deal worth around £47.2m.
Although de Gea’s final season at Old Trafford wasn’t a good one, he is still an excellent shot-stopper who would do a fine job in a new team.
Let’s hope the 32-year-old finds a new club soon. It would be ideal if Inter benefits from having him. Onana, meanwhile, is a great signing for the Red Devils.
The Cameroon international has played under Erik ten Hag before when they were at Ajax. Hence, there shouldn’t be a big settling period with regard to understanding the basic playing style.
With the goalkeeper situation now seemingly sorted, the club can move on to signing a striker as soon as possible.
This team needs a number nine who can score goals at a good rate and convert the chances created by some of the best playmakers in the league.

The likes of Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount are expected to create a lot of chances. Marcus Rashford’s running will offer some space for the striker too. Only if there is a finisher who could come and get 30 goals per season here.
