Marcus Rashford “determined” for success after signing new Manchester United contract
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is determined to succeed and bring more silverware to the club after signing a new contract until June 2028.
The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Old Trafford side. Previously, the forward was set to become a free agent next summer. Thankfully, the Red Devils have now secured the England international’s future.
Speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News after agreeing fresh terms at United, Rashford expressed delight at being able to commit to his boyhood club and is looking forward to lifting titles at the club.
“I joined Manchester United as a seven-year-old boy with a dream. That same passion, pride, and determination to succeed still drives me every time I have the honour of wearing the shirt.
“I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club, but there is still a lot more to achieve and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead.”
The English national made his way through the youth ranks at the Old Trafford side before breaking into the first team in the 2016/17 term. Subsequently, the forward established himself as a key player for the Red Devils.
Unfortunately, after losing the 2020 Euro Finals with the Three Lions against Italy, Rashford’s form took a hit. Under Ralph Rangnick, who was appointed as our interim head coach after the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the 25-year-old lost his place in the team.
Thankfully, the arrival of Erik ten Hag seems to have re-energised the winger. Last season, the English national was our top goalscorer, finding the back of the net 30 times and providing 11 assists in 56 appearances in all competitions.
In the summer of 2022, Paris Saint-Germain met with Rashford’s agent and enquired about him. But in the end, the Red Devils have managed to fend off interest from other teams in the 25-year-old.

The English national was a key player for us as we lifted the Carabao Cup in the previous campaign. Hopefully, the forward will be able to keep up his performances and the Old Trafford side will be able to once again get back to the top under Ten Hag.
