Manchester United will be looking to move on from 23-year-old defender this summer
As reported by The Telegraph (h/t ESPN), Manchester United are willing to move on from 23-year-old defender, Brandon Williams this summer. The English defender has not played in the Premier League since May 2021.
Being with the Red Devils has surely been a strange affair for the 23-year-old affair. He came through the academy to make a place for himself in the first team. However, as close as he got, Williams will not get to live his Old Trafford dreams.
He made 51 appearances for the club during his time with the senior team. Williams’ contract is expiring at the end of the summer and the Red Devils are not going be offering him another contract.
The 23-year-old has been biding his time on loan with Championship side Ipswich. Maybe he can give them a reason to sign him once his contract with United expires this summer. However, it is too soon to say who Williams will end up with.
The English defender is not the only one who’s going to be leaving Old Trafford during the summer. Raphael Varane is also out of contract at the end of the season and the Frenchman will likely not be getting a new deal.
Moreover, both Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are near the end of their stay with United and could leave the club this summer. The team will surely need to make a ton of defensive signings once the transfer window opens.
