Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo delighted with transfer links amidst Manchester United interest
Moises Caicedo, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion, is delighted to be linked with the likes of Manchester United in the ongoing transfer window.
The Red Devils have been interested in the Ecuador international for a long time. Erik ten Hag is willing to add another midfielder to the ranks this summer despite the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea.
However, apart from the Old Trafford side, Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea also have the 21-year-old on their radar. As things stand, the Blues are leading the race for the former Independiente del Valle star’s signature.
Speaking to Maria Jose Flores via 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News), Caicedo is overwhelmed by the speculation around his future, considering the teams eyeing his services.
“It’s a very great emotion. What guy wouldn’t want them to be talking about him?”
It takes a special player for all of the aforementioned teams to join the pursuit. The likes of United are some of the biggest institutions in football. Therefore, it is not a surprise to see the Ecuadorian enjoying the attention.
The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene only in the last few months. Brighton have built a pedigree of unearthing promising talents and the midfielder is one of them.
As things stand, the Red Devils’ engine room has Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in it. However, in the previous campaign, the Old Trafford side struggled for quality in depth in the middle of the park.
Donny van de Beek, Fred and Scott McTominay have been at the club for several years now. Unfortunately, they have been inconsistent and have been unable to cement a place in the team.
