Eintracht Frankfurt remain interested in Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof
According to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), Eintracht Frankfurt remain interested in securing the services of Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof.
Lindelof has been on Frankfurt’s radar for some time and the German club had tried to sign in January only for Erik Ten Hag to rebuff the request.
Now, they are back in for the Sweden captain as they look set to replace Evan D’Nicka who has joined Jose Mourinho in AS Roma on a free transfer.
Lindelof’s current contract at the club ends in 2024 although the club has an option of extending it by another season and Ten Hag is keen to tie down the defender to a new deal.
The Dutch manager has been impressed with the way the Swede performed during the latter stages of the season and was a very able substitute for the injured Lisandro Martinez.
Lindelof gave us some excellent performances at the back which allowed the club to finish in the UEFA Champions League spot and has earned the trust of the manager.
Still, there are speculations about the club being in the market for a new centre back which could derail the player’s game-time at the club.
It would be one of the biggest considerations for the Swede as the Euro Championships will be happening in 2024 and he would want to have regular time in the build-up for the tournament.
