Manchester United target and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister wants Premier League stay
Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister wants to stay in the Premier League amidst interest from Manchester United, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The midfielder is being linked with a number of top teams. However, the Argentina international would like to continue in England if he were to leave the Seagulls next summer.
Liverpool are currently in pole position to acquire the 24-year-old’s services. However, apart from the Red Devils, the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea also have him on their radar.
Mac Allister became a regular at Brighton in the previous campaign. However, this season, the Argentine has broken onto the scene and has caught a lot of people’s attention.
After Graham Potter’s departure from the Amex Stadium side, Roberto De Zerbi was appointed the head coach. The midfielder has taken his game to the next level under the Italian gaffer.
The 24-year-old was also pivotal in La Albiceleste’s 2022 World Cup win. Lionel Sacaloni’s team beat France in the final to lift the prestigious golden trophy.
United signed Christian Eriksen as a free agent last summer. The Denmark international has fit perfectly in the box-to-box role at the Old Trafford side.
Under Erik ten Hag, the 31-year-old has played alongside Casemiro in the double pivot. However, in his absence, the Red Devils have not performed at their best. Coming off the bench, Fred and Scott McTominay have left a lot to be desired.
