Arsenal ‘monitoring’ situation of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United
Premier League rivals Arsenal are ‘monitoring’ the situation of soon-to-be out-of-contract Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 25-year-old’s existing deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2024. But the Old Trafford side are confident about securing the England international’s future in Manchester.
However, until new terms are agreed upon between the club and the forward, a number of sides will continue to be linked with him. Therefore, it would be wise of us to tie down the winger as soon as possible.
Rashford made his way through United’s academy and broke into the senior side in the 2016/17 season. Subsequently, the 25-year-old became a valuable member of the Red Devils’ first team.
However, in the previous campaign, the England international looked short on confidence after returning to the club from Euro 2020. The forward was unable to make a considerable impact in a red shirt and lost his place in the team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
Thankfully, with the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Rashford has once again found his feet. The 25-year-old is the Old Trafford side’s leading goalscorer this term.
In the current campaign, the England international has shouldered the burden of United’s attack. The forward has made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists.
However, apart from the academy graduate, none of our other attackers have made a considerable contribution in the final third. The likes of Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Antony have been underwhelming.

Arsenal have decent quality on the left wing with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. However, they could evidently do with more firepower up top to accompany Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. But hopefully, Rashford will soon put pen to paper on a new contract at United.
