Bayern Munich want €20 million for on-loan Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich will want €20 million to part ways with on-loan Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, according to BILD (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 28-year-old joined the Red Devils on a temporary move in the previous transfer window for the rest of the season. However, there is already talk of a permanent switch to the Old Trafford side.
Over the years, the Austria international established himself as one of the best midfielders in Germany. He especially caught a lot of people’s attention at RB Leipzig.
Sabitzer moved to Die Roten Bullen from sister club Red Bull Salzburg. During his time at the Red Bull Arena, the Austrian developed his qualities in the attacking third initially but then turned into a fine number eight.
In the summer of 2021, the Bavarians came knocking as Julian Nagelsmann reunited with the 28-year-old. However, the midfielder has found life hard at the Allianz Arena side.
In the current campaign, Sabitzer featured 24 times in all competitions for Bayern, scoring one goal and providing one assist. However, most of the Austrian’s appearances were off the bench.
United signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the summer of 2022. The two have been Erik ten Hag’s go-to players in the middle of the park at the Old Trafford side.
Unfortunately, the Denmark international picked up an injury against Reading in the FA Cup fourth round. The 31-year-old is expected to miss a considerable chunk of the season.
