Manchester United told modest price tag for Bayern Munich star Marcel Sabitzer

Manchester United could sign Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer for just €15million this summer if they want to.

The Austria international was signed last January on a six-month loan deal from the Allianz Arena with no option to buy. As of July 1, he is a Bayern player again.

But if they want to sign him, Bayern would ask for just €15million for him. This is according to BILD, via BavarianFootballWorks (h/t Manchester Evening News).

He made 18 appearances for us last season and scored three times. He was signed when Christian Eriksen was injured in the winter to bolster our midfield.

What should Man United do?

Why not do that again? The Austrian is a versatile player who can strengthen multiple positions for us. He can play as a No. 8, No. 10 and down the right flank if and when needed.

Moreover, the Bavarian giants signed him for €16million from RB Leipzig in 2021, so they aren’t asking for a lot. If Man United can negotiate, and if no other suitors come forward, we can even hope for a lower price tag.

As per MEN, Man United haven’t completely given up on the prospect of potentially retaining Sabitzer on a permanent basis. He is 29, so he isn’t old too.

This seems like a smart transfer to make if we can afford those few million bucks. But before that, we have to ensure we sign a world-class no. 9 and a new goalkeeper and only then should we focus on strengthening other areas.
