Inter Milan earmark Anatoliy Trubin as Andre Onana successor amid Manchester United links
Inter Milan are apparently already in the market for a replacement for Manchester United target Andre Onana.
Things are heating up in the Red Devils’ pursuit of the Cameroonian shot-stopper and there is a very real chance that David de Gea doesn’t renew his deal.
If that happens, the 32-year-old Spaniard will leave as a free agent. United have earmarked Onana as a potential replacement in that event.
Onana has played at Ajax, the club that Erik ten Hag managed before moving to Old Trafford last summer. He is a great passer of the ball for a goalie and can help the team build out from the back on a consistent basis.
What next for Onana?
According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews (h/t Manchester Evening News), Inter are preparing for life with Onana. They are chasing Trubin, who has been at Shakhtar Donetsk for the entirety of his professional career.
One can imagine the Ukrainian shot-stopper won’t cost a lot. The 21-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt), so he could be a potentially cheap replacement for Onana.
Although, it is unclear if Donetsk want to sell him and if so, what price they want for him. Manchester United should be boosted by this news and fans can start dreaming of a world-class goalie between the sticks who is very smart in possession and with his feet.

We just have to ensure that Andre Onana signs for us as soon as possible before other teams try and hijack any deal. The 27-year-old just moved to Inter Milan last summer from Ajax but in his one-year stay at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, he has enhanced his reputation massively.
