Manchester United have held “no negotiations” for Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus

Manchester United are yet to hold any negotiations for Ajax Amsterdam star and Ghana international Mohammed Kudus. Although, the Red Devils have sent scouts to watch the forward.

Erik ten Hag is keen on reuniting with the 22-year-old at the Old Trafford side. The Red Devils are amongst several teams in the Premier League eyeing the youngster’s signature.

However, speaking to GiveMeSport (h/t Manchester Evening News), transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that United had not entered any kind of negotiation for Kudus for the time being. But in the English top flight, a number of clubs are monitoring the forward.

“At the moment, I’m told that there are no negotiations. I think we have these rumours because Manchester United scouts, as many others from the Premier League, four or five clubs from the Premier League, sent their scouts to follow Mohamed Kudus at the World Cup and with Ajax.”

The Ghana international was signed by Ten Hag for Ajax in the summer of 2020. During his time under the Dutch manager in Amsterdam, the 22-year-old was mainly a squad player.

However, Kudus has broken onto the scene for De Godenzonen in the current campaign. In 23 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie outfit this season, he has scored 10 goals and has provided two assists.

The 22-year-old also shone for the Black Stars in the 2022 World Cup. For Ghana, the forward started in every fixture in Qatar. But the African nation were unable to get past the group stages.

Ten Hag was appointed United manager at the end of the previous campaign. The Red Devils signed two of his former players from Ajax, Lisandro Martinez and Antony, in the summer of 2022.

The Argentine centre-back has become an instant fan favourite. On the other hand, the Brazilian winger is still seemingly trying to find his feet in Manchester.

Will the gaffer opt to bring in another player from his old club? Only time will tell. Kudus is another player with great potential. As of now, the Old Trafford side evidently need to bolster their front line, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial the only established forward’s in the squad.
