Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain lead the race to sign Manchester United target Marcelo Brozovic
According to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Sports Mole), Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain are frontrunners to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
The 28-year-old has been an instrumental part of the Nerazzurri in the last few years. He has been solid in the middle of the pitch and played a pivotal role in helping the Milan outfit lift the Serie A title last season. It is believed that the Croatian international is demanding £125,000 a week but the Italian giants are unable to provide that amount.
His contract at the San Siro will expire next June following which the veteran midfielder would be a free agent. Brozovic has played 257 matches for the Serie A outfit across all competitions during which time he has scored 26 goals and provided 36 assists.
Manchester United have struggled in the middle of the pitch on numerous occasions this season. They were thoroughly outclassed by Manchester City in the derby and the 2-0 loss could have been much worse at Old Trafford. The Italian club will want to keep their experienced midfielder but their financial troubles may been an obstacle at the given moment.
The Red Devils have been struggling to maintain any solidity in their team against the bigger teams this season. Scott McTominay and Fred haven’t been the most reliable pairing in recent weeks. They have leaked several goals and the backline also seems flustered and clueless at times against the better sides.
A veteran midfielder like Brozovic could help anchor the midfield and provide some sense of stability to the team. His experience could prove crucial at a team like Manchester United which seems to be all over the place at the moment. There has been a lack of initiative and pressing. The intensity has dropped off on several occasions and a lack of consistency has left supporters frustrated.

If this report is to be believed then the Red Devils are lagging in the race to sign him. Hence any move for the Croatian seems highly unlikely in the coming window.
