Atletico Madrid ready to ruin Manchester United plans of signing Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic
According to Fichajes.net (h/t The Sun), Atletico Madrid have lined up an offer for Inter Milan ace Marcelo Brozovic amidst transfer interest from Manchester United.
The 28-year-old star has been a mainstay at the San Siro since joining the Nerazzurri half a decade ago. Since then, the central midfielder has produced incredible performances season after season and played a huge role in delivering the Scudetto last campaign.
In fact, Brozovic has excelled on the international stage as well, being a key part of the Croatia side that reached the 2018 World Cup final. However, he is now in the final year of his contract and could leave on a free transfer next summer.
Man United are thought to be interested in securing the player’s services, given the amount of quality he could add to the ranks. Scott McTominay and Fred do a fine job in our midfield, but they could certainly be upgraded upon.
Additionally, the Old Trafford outfit are said to have accepted that star midfielder Paul Pogba will leave at the end of the season, once his contract expires. Nemanja Matic is also in the twilight of his career and shall be in the final year of his deal in the summer of 2022.
We could certainly use a deep-lying playmaker in the ranks, and there are few better than the Nerazzurri star. However, Atletico might now ruin those plans as they have jumped ahead of the Red Devils and have offered the player a two-year deal, with the option of a third.

This is a huge blow to the 13-time Premier League champions. Regardless, there is no saying whether the midfielder would be open to joining the Spanish outfit, especially if United agree to Brozovic’s demands of a £5million-a-year salary and present him with an attractive project.
