Transfer News: Manchester United are not eyeing a deal for Leeds United ace Kalvin Philipps
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand presents Five Podcast (h/t Leeds All Over), Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Leeds United star Kalvin Philipps is not a potential target for Manchester United.
The Red Devils, who already possess the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay, and Donny van de Beek in their ranks, could add another midfielder to the fold.
The Old Trafford outfit were linked with Kalvin Philipps recently after it was understood that the club were not interested in Declan Rice any more, according to Daily Star. The 25-year-old has been incredible for Leeds United since being promoted to the senior team in 2015.
The Englishman has been through thick and thin with the club and is now playing some of his career’s best football under Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League. After Leeds were promoted last season, the midfielder was a key reason behind the Whites finishing 9th in the table, just 3 points away from qualification to Europe.
His performances warranted a place in the England squad for the Euros, and the 25-year-old played a huge role in the Three Lions reaching the final of the competition.
However, while he is a good player, it has now been revealed that the Manchester-based club have never been interested in signing him.

Philipps has never been a potential target for United and it is in fact, Rice, who remains on the wish list of the Old Trafford outfit, as per the information provided by journalist Fabrizio Romano on Rio Ferdinand presents Five Podcast (h/t Leeds All Over).
The Italian transfer guru also suggested Ruben Neves and Aurelien Tchouameni as alternatives that the club could look at if they do not land the 22-year-old West Ham star. Regardless, despite all speculation, it does not look like the Kalvin Philipps would be making a move to Manchester any time soon.
