Manchester United are interested in a deal for Golden Kick SC youngster Mizak Asante
Speaking to Accra radio station Onua FM, via Ghana Soccer Net (h/t TEAMtalk), Manchester United are amongst several clubs who are monitoring the progress of 15-year-old Golden Kick SC talent Mizak Asante.
The 15-year-old showcased a brilliant performance recently, as he scored an absolute wonder goal against Mobile Phone People in the Division Two League play-off final.
Dancing past defenders and then the goalkeeper, Asante put the ball into the roof of the net from close range. The youngster had just come off the bench, and his goal took the game into a penalty shoot-out. The goal in itself was so brilliant that people are already touting it to be nominated for the FIFA PUSKAS 2021 – an award provided to the player who scored the most beautiful in the calendar year.
However, it has now also been revealed, that there was a lot of interest in the youngster even before he featured in the play-off final. Joseph Epton, who is the chairman of Golden Kick SC, told Accra radio station via Onua FM, via Ghana Soccer Net (h/t TEAMtalk):
“Before Mizak scored this goal we had already showed his highlights – and those of other players – to clubs abroad. But he was the only player we had feedback about. It has come from Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, and Genk.”
The Red Devils are always one to spot talented youngsters and sign them up to their academies or slot them straightaway into the first team at an early age. The Manchester United academy is already boasting of several talented youngsters like Teden Mengi, Alvaro Fernandes, Hannibal Mejbri, Anthony Elanga, and several others.

Thus, it would not be a surprise if the Old Trafford outfit add the Ghanaian wonderkid to their ranks as well. However, to do so, they will have to fend off the likes of Juventus, Manchester City, and Belgian side Genk.
Hence, only time will tell whether United can lure the 15-year-old to Manchester to add him to the wonderful group of youngsters brewing in their academy.
