Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes keen to improve upon last season’s promise
According to the Express, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has expressed his desire to build upon the potential shown by the club last season.
The Red Devils are yet to win a single major honour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Despite making it to numerous semifinals and also last season’s Europa League final, United have been unable to make the final push.
Having brought in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo, United have now added strength in depth while also vastly improving their first XI. Solskajer certainly has more options as he targets his first major trophy as United manager.
Fernandes goes on to add that the improvement United have made both on and off the field is clear. The onus is now on the players to take the next step.
“There has been an improvement in the club and now it is time to take the next step.”
Going four years without winning a trophy is unfathomable for a club such as United. It is, however, our current reality and it is imperative that we stop the rot now.
Despite the impressive performance against Newcastle United, the Red Devils were far from their best. The team still has to gel together and exciting times lie ahead for United fans.
Fernandes goes on to praise Ronaldo for what he has brought to the United side. The clinical edge he provides up front could make the difference when it comes to the business end of the season.
“Everyone knows what Cristiano Ronaldo brought for the club and we are really happy to have him. The most important, as he will say, is the result for the team. Good players can always play well together.”
