Transfer News: Manchester United are open to selling Anthony Martial this summer
According to transfer news from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness (h/t Mirror), Manchester United have ‘offered’ Anthony Martial to Inter Milan this summer.
The Italian club are set to lose former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea this summer and are keen on finding a replacement for the Belgian.
Manchester United, in turn, are willing to let Martial leave this summer while they have also set a £50million price tag on the Frenchman. Inter Milan are interested in the player while Everton are also said to be keen on signing the player on a loan move. (h/t Mirror)
Given that United have signed Jadon Sancho this summer, Martial’s game-time could be limited. The Red Devils added Sancho to a squad that already boasted the likes of Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Mason Greenwood, and Bruno Fernandes.
Martial ended last season with a knee injury, although his form was derailing miserably even before that. The 25-year-old only managed to score 4 goals and provide a further 6 assists in 22 Premier League appearances last season. This was a huge drop from the player’s performance in the 2019/20 season when he managed to score 17 goals and provide 7 assists in 32 Premier League appearances.
While the Frenchman has been declared fit and has returned to first-team training, his days could be numbered at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are hoping to move on the player as they could use the money from the Frenchman’s sale to sign one or two more players before the end of the transfer window. United have been interested in Eduardo Camavinga this summer, and Martial’s departure could fund a move for the Rennes youngster. (h/t Express)
United’s main focus, however, will be on the coming weekend when they face Leeds United in their season opener.
