Out-of-favor Man United star would prefer a move to France despite interest from Serie A

As reported by Rudy Galleti, Manchester United star, Anthony Martial is generating a lot of interest from Serie A. However, the 28-year-old would prefer to play in France after his days at Old Trafford are over.

Martial has been a disappointing player for the Red Devils. He was supposed to be one of the best in the world in his prime. However, he has failed to even be the best striker at Old Trafford for large stretches of his career.

The 28-year-old has made 317 appearances for United recording 90 goals and 48 assists. He has a lot of quality, but the only thing that Martial does consistently is be inconsistent, so he is expected to leave Erik ten Hag‘s side on a free transfer this summer.

While Martial would prefer a move to France, there is no guarantee that any Ligue 1 teams would be willing to bet on him. In case nothing works out for the Frenchman there are also some offers from Saudi Arabia.

However, if Martial goes to the Saudi Pro League he will most likely never get to play another game in the top five leagues of Europe. So, if France doesn’t call, the 28-year-old should consider the offers from Serie A.

The Serie A could be Martial’s last shot at redemption. The 28-year-old has constantly been dragged through the mud by his critics, so this could be his final chance to show his mettle and redeem himself.

While it is sad to see Martial depart Old Trafford in such a sad state, the fans will surely be hoping that he’s able to turn it around at his new club.
