David De Gea returns to Manchester United training ahead of schedule
According to Daily Star, David De Gea has returned to training for Manchester United ahead of schedule. This is believed to be due to the keeper wanting to regain his No.1 spot in goal.
The big 30-year-old Spaniard has seemingly lost his undisputed No.1 spot in the side, with Dean Henderson now the first choice between the sticks. The change of guard was visible last season. Henderson retained his place in the league games and De Gea manned the posts in the Europa League. Solskjaer’s headache was visible throughout the season.
De Gea’s fall from grace meant that he lost his place in the Spain side to Unai Simon. In the six games Spain played, De Gea warmed the benched before his side exited the tournament in the semi-finals. Post that, De Gea was scheduled to go on a three-week holiday.
However, it seems that the Spanish keeper wants to return to action sooner than later. He is said to have returned to training in the hopes that he can impress Solskjaer to give him a chance to reclaim his spot between the sticks. It seems he has cut short his holiday by a good two weeks or so.

Solskjaer and United will have to come to a decision soon. United cannot keep rotating between two keepers and need a clear first choice. This preseason and friendlies should help get a better assessment of both Henderson and De Gea and allow Solskjaer to take a call.
