Manchester United blow as West Ham offer Declan Rice new contract
According to transfer news from Daily Mail, West Ham are to offer Declan Rice a new contract amidst interest from Manchester United. The Hammers can now offer him a better deal after the sale of Felipe Anderson. Chelsea are also said to be after Rice.
West Ham have finally gotten Anderson off their books. The Brazilian never really got going and was sold at a loss to Lazio. That is not entirely a bad thing for the club in the sense that they can now offer a new deal to Declan Rice.
However, it does represent a hiccup for clubs such as Manchester United, who are keen on the English midfielder. United seem to be going after at least one midfielder and Rice is a name that is of interest to them. He has slowly developed into one of the best defensive midfielders for West Ham as well as England.
Rice showed his class as England went all the way to the Euros final. West Ham have been trying to tie down the midfielder to a new deal but have been unsuccessful so far. However, now that Anderson’s wages are off their books, they can offer a much more lucrative deal to Rice. This, in turn, could be a huge blow to United, who want the midfielder.

The talented Englishman rightly matches the club’s requirements and can be a good long-term investment. However, United have to play the waiting game here to see if Rice commits to a new deal at West Ham. However, they will be hoping that he does not as it will seriously dent any chance they have of landing the talented 22-year-old.
