Kieran Trippier wants a return to the Premier League amid Manchester United interest
According to transfer news from Irish Independent, Kieran Trippier is keen on a return to the Premier League amid interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have bid and failed once already as Atletico Madrid are holding out for £30m for the right-back.
It’s no secret that Manchester United could do with some added competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United saw last season as to how Telles’ arrival boosted Shaw’s performances. While Wan-Bissaka isn’t playing badly, he does need cover and competition.
Trippier is a proven performer at the club and international level as well. He was a part of the Atletico side that won La Liga last season. Trippier also featured in five games for England in the recently concluded Euros and provided the assist for Shaw’s goal in the final.
Now, the 30-year-old wants a return to English shores after a two-year Spanish sojourn. Trippier does have another year left in his current deal with an option of an additional year. However, he is keen to return to his homeland amid the interest from United. The Spanish champions are believed to be demanding £30m for him, which United cannot stump up unless they sell players.

The £73m outlay on Sancho has somewhat handicapped United’s pursuit of other players. However, Trippier is a player they can use as he can offer something wildly different to Wan-Bissaka. Quite how United go about this is not clear.
