Solskjaer credits Pogba, Cavani, and Fernandes for Manchester United resurgence
According to the Mirror, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has credited three players for the club’s upturn in fortunes.
The trio of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, and Edinson Cavani have all stepped up when needed this season. They have shown they can raise the stakes and put their performances to where their mouth is.
“When you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk.”
The Norwegian also believes that the trio’s conduct has rubbed off on the team, encouraging those around them to conduct themselves for the betterment of the club.
Solskjaer admits he is keen to bring players with the right mentality to the club. Of the three aforementioned stars, Fernandes and Cavani arrived during the Norwegian’s reign.
“You don’t just bring big talents in, you research their character as much as you can to have the right types.”
He admits that there was real concern about eliminating the money-hungry attitude that has become all so prevalent in today’s game. While it may be too soon to say that United has eradicated it completely within the squad, we are on the right track.
“I wanted players to come here to push the boundaries, the levels and drive it on from the inside.”
The presence of the three players has helped create a team spirit that is geared towards success. It has slowly but steadily been seeping through to the players around as we continue to challenge for the title. Having such a motivated dressing room makes Solskjaer’s job easier.
“With players like Bruno, Edinson, and Paul Pogba, I feel I have a dressing room that is driven to success.”
A strong relationship!
Pogba has been in the news of late for both the right and wrong reasons. While his performances on the field have been exemplary, there is uncertainty surrounding his future.
Solskjaer, however, believes the pair share a strong relationship and has praised the midfielder’s mentality. (h/t The Guardian)

Solskjaer has played alongside some of the best players to don the jersey in United’s history. As a part of several championship-winning sides, he is well aware of the mentality needed to succeed.
It is fair to say that we looked a million miles away when he took over the managerial position from Jose Mourinho. The fact that he notices the change in mentality is a testament to how far we have come under his guidance.
