Journalist claims Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are piling the pressure on Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
According to a piece written by ESPN journalist Mark Ogden (h/t Espn.in), Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are increasing the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with their post-match comments.
The Red Devils failed to pick up a victory for a third consecutive week in the Premier League and were completely bossed in the second half against Leicester City. The Foxes ran rampant as their three goals in the second half ensured a comfortable 4-2 score-line on the day.
After the game, Pogba and Fernandes had a lot to say. While the Frenchman urged for the ‘right mentality‘, the Portuguese tweeted the need to ‘stand together‘. Although noble comments, it must not have boded well for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that two of his main midfield stars are pressing on the need for improvement.

ESPN journalist Mark Ogden has now claimed that the duo’s comments are only increasing the pressure on their Norwegian boss. Ogden wrote (h/t Espn.in):
“It’s never a good sign for a manager when his most high-profile players begin to talk openly about a need for improvement, so for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, there can be no positive spin about Paul Pogba following Bruno Fernandes by publicly calling for things to change at Old Trafford.
“Quite simply, players don’t call for improvement when things are going well, and they certainly don’t do it when they play for a manager who is the dominant personality at their club.”

Thus, perhaps there is a lack of an alpha dog in the United dressing room, and if there is one, it does not seem as though Solskjaer is assuming that role.
Regardless, the 48-year-old’s man-management skills have played a part in keeping him at the job over the last three years, but it remains to be seen whether he can inspire the ‘improvement’ his stars are calling out for.
