West Brom enter the race for Manchester United winger Daniel James

According to the Daily Star, West Brom boss Sam Allardyce has enquired about the availability of Manchester United winger Daniel James.

The Welshman has found opportunities hard to come by this season. He has made just eight appearances this season. While he was included in our last two Premier League matchday, his performances haven’t exactly been eye-catching.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is undecided over keeping the Welsh winger for the second half of the season. With the January window approaching, a decision needs to be made soon.

The Baggies are currently in the relegation zone and are well entrenched in the relegation battle. They have one of the worst attacks in the Premier League and have so far scored just 11 times this season.

The addition of James will give them a pacy outlet to aim for on the counter. With opportunities relatively easier to come by at the Hawthorns, it could be in United’s best interests to loan the 23-year-old.

West Brom will however not have a clear route in securing the player. The likes of Leeds United, Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion are all keen on the winger. (h/t The Daily Star)

James is our lone natural right-winger and with some fine-tuning, he could prove to be a force down the flank. However, he is unlikely to evolve if he does not play regularly.

The player for his part is keen to stay at United for the remainder of the season. Whether he will change his mind in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
