Transfer News: Manchester United open to Daniel James exit after signing Cristiano Ronaldo
According to a news report by Sun (h/t Yardbarker), Daniel James could be a transfer casualty at Manchester United after the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.
There has been interest from clubs for the Welshman earlier this summer but United were seemingly adamant to keep him at Old Trafford. Things could change now, however.
The Red Devils are now said to be open to the idea of selling or loaning out the former Swansea City wide man. There is no shortage of interest with multiple Premier Leagues after him.
Everton, Brighton and Hove Albion, Leeds United, and Crystal Palace are all potential suitors for the winger. And according to CaughtOffside (h/t Yardbarker), Leicester City are also interested in him.
Dan James to be sold?
James had a good first season in terms of getting starts but has slowly and steadily been ousted out of the starting XI. United have added a tremendous amount of talent in the attacking area since the turn of the year.
The club signed Amad Diallo from Atalanta, Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo from the Old Lady. Moreover, Mason Greenwood has also started a number of times down that side when fit.
Amidst this, James may well find it impossible to get any starts this season. Even as a backup, the 23-year-old has other players in front of him in the pecking order.
The aforementioned clubs that are interested in him are all teams where he could get considerable game-time and continue his development curve. For United, loaning him out seems like a wise choice.

A permanent sale is also not something that will harm the club to a big extent. With a plethora of talented players, most of them still young, the attack is seemingly future-proof under Solskjaer – with or without James.
