Daniel James could leave Manchester United soon with Leeds still interested

According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Leeds United are open to signing Daniel James from Manchester United this summer.

Several clubs have previously expressed interest in the 23-year-old, namely, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester City, and Brighton & Hove Albion, and Leeds United are also among the mentioned clubs who are interested in signing the player this summer.

Marcelo Bielsa and co are ready to bring the Welshman to the club on a loan deal as well as a permanent move. The Red Devils, in turn, are ready to listen to offers for the winger and could demand in excess of £20million for the 23-year-old, if he is to leave on a permanent move.

This is, however, not the first time The Peacocks have been interested in signing the youngster as they also came close to signing him in January 2019. James had also completed a medical for Leeds but a deal fell through at the 11th hour and the transfer window was then closed.

After six months of that failed move, United orchestrated a deal for the youngster and the player completed a medical as well as signed a five-year contract, with the option of a sixth subject to international clearance.

The Welshman made a massive 46 appearances in all competitions in the 2019/20 season and was afforded a consistent role on the wings for the Old Trafford outfit. However, the 23-year-old did not manage the same fate last season as he managed only 26 appearances in all competitions.

More Manchester United News:

With the additions of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, James could further fall down the pecking order at the club, and a loan move would suffice all the parties concerned.

However, with less than two days remaining until the end of deadline day, it remains to be seen whether the winger can seal a move away from the club.
