Trevor Sinclair backs Solskjaer to bring in another striker at Manchester United
Speaking to TalkSport (h/t Express), Trevor Sinclair has urged Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to bring in a new striker in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils signed Edinson Cavani in the summer and have Anthony Martial coming on the back off a personally prolific season. While the former has thrived, the latter is struggling to reach the previous season’s levels.
United’s profligacy cost them a win at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Despite having plenty of chances, the Red Devils could not put them away and the game ended in a draw.

With the transfer window just around the corner, Sinclair believes United must replace Martial. The Frenchman did score against the Foxes but saw his effort chalked off for offside. He was later taken off for Cavani.
While Sinclair does acknowledge Martial’s performances from last season, he believes the striker has gone back to his frustrating best.
“He seems to have reversed in his application and gone back to that player that frustrated a lot of people.”

Achilles’ heel?
Sinclair believes United do not have enough in their arsenal to challenge Liverpool for the title. Solskjaer’s side has exceeded expectations in recent months and will hopefully prove the former Manchester City star wrong.
“If Manchester United were to be taken seriously, I think they have to come to places like Leicester City and win the game.”
Four goals in 16 appearances is by no means an impressive statistic for a striker. There is no argument that Martial has underperformed this season.
There was hope he would be getting back to his best after scoring late on against Everton in the Carabao Cup. However, hopes of that happening against Leicester ended in disappointment.
