Manchester United target Jack Grealish pens new Aston Villa deal
According to MEN, Manchester United target Jack Grealish has signed a new contract at Aston Villa.
The Villans skipper was a key target for the Red Devils going into the summer. United have however failed to sign the 25-year-old and have since brought in Donny van de Beek.
By penning the new five-year extension, Grealish brings to an end yet another transfer saga for United.
The midfield star played a starring role in Villa’s successful survival bid. He scored eight Premier League goals, while also assisting six more. (h/t Birmingham Mail)
Villa were keen to hold onto their star asset and had placed a massive £80m asking price on his head. This prompted United to look elsewhere for alternatives.
They did just that as they signed Van de Beek from Ajax Amsterdam.
Alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, Van de Beek would be a solid addition to our midfield. With the likes of Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira and Fred available, the Red Devils are well stocked in the middle of the park.
Fans meanwhile have also given their verdict and are not overly concerned about missing out on Grealish.
While a good player, it is debatable if Grealish is worth what Villa want for him. Whether passing on him is the right decision remains to be seen.
