Manchester United still in for Jack Grealish

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are still in touch with Aston Villa over a deal for Jack Grealish.

The Villans skipper is valued at a massive £75million. Grealish has been on United’s radar for some time now.

Both clubs had a conversation on the topic last week. The midfielder is ready for a new challenge and is keen to play for a Champions League side.

The Red Devils were keen on bringing in Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. With the deal now hitting a roadblock, a deal for Grealish has returned into focus.

Grealish enjoyed a brilliant season back in the top-flight. In fact, no other English player created more chances than him last season. Despite that, he was omitted from Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Grealish’s off-field behavior is a matter of discussion. However United are keen to discount the worries. They believe the 24-year-old’s energy and enthusiasm will be a welcome boost to the United squad.

According to the report, Villa are under no pressure to sell. They will however not stand in Grealish’s way if their asking price is met.

United hope to bring down the asking price by adding players into a potential deal. Villa for their part are in need of a goalkeeper and a right-back.

The Villans are fans of both Dean Henderson and Sergio Romero. A season-long loan could be in their interest. With Diogo Dalot also available, United could attempt to tempt Villa to bite. (h/t Daily Mail)

Bringing in a player of Grealish’s ability will give us more strength in depth. With Champions League football back on the table, it is imperative we have more than just a strong starting XI.

With the new season closing in, United are yet to make a first-team signing. Whether that player will be Grealish remains to be seen.
