Manchester City to fight Manchester United for Jack Grealish
According to The Daily Star, Manchester City are set to battle Manchester United for Jack Grealish.
United were keen on the Aston Villa captain in the summer. He was also offered to us only for the club to pass on the chance and focus all their efforts on Jadon Sancho instead.
While we failed to land Sancho, Grealish has gone on to impress for Villa. He has been at the centre of Dean Smith’s side that has defeated the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
Since then, our chances of securing him have become more difficult. Pep Guardiola, who recently signed a contract extension looks, to be planning for the future.
According to The Independent, he also discussed the player with star attacker Kevin de Bruyne. It is not the first time that the Spaniard has talked about Grealish. He had earlier spoken about a player he described as ‘exceptional’.
Grealish committed his future to Villa last summer when he penned a five-year extension to stay at the club.
According to the report, Guardiola will be given the necessary funds to rebuild his City side. They will have to fork out around £100m for the player.
Just like Guardiola, De Bruyne too rates Grealish very highly. The prospect of them combining could be truly terrifying.
