Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba to return in West Brom friendly
According to the Birmingham Mail, Manchester United stars Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba are set to return to action in a friendly against West Bromwich Albion.
With the clash against Tottenham Hotspur just 10 days away, the match should give us an opportunity to test out new tactics and also help players attain match fitness.
United are expected to have a fully fit squad which includes Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford. The pair had also taken part in a 11 vs 11 match played out amongst the squad recently.
Albion have already played Ason Villa in a friendly that ended 2-2. United were scheduled to face off against Stoke City at Carrington today. However, the Potters cancelled the match at the last minute.
The Baggies, however, will present good competition for a United side with still a lot to play for this season. Currently second in the Championship, Slaven Bilic’s side are no pushovers.
They should provide ample competition to finalize our tactics for the game against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side.
A crunch clash
The crunch clash against the Lilywhites is a key encounter in the race for top-four. Although Tottenham are 8th position, a win will bring them to within a point of us.
With the likes of Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, Son Heung-Min and Steven Bergwijn all fit, Mourinho will have enough in his scabbard to derail our top-four bid.
Also given the history, he will be keen to get one back at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who masterminded his defeat earlier this season.
Marcus Rashford was the hero that day. It will be good to see him back in the line-up again come June 19th. Pogba too could be set to play for the first time since being sidelined last December.
