Marcus Rashford named the fifth most valued played by CIES
According to CIES Football Observatory, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been named the 5th most valuable player across Europe’s top five leagues.
The 22-year-old has improved leaps and bounds since making his debut as an 18-year-old. Playing against arch-rivals Arsenal, he scored twice as the Red Devils romped home to three points.
In the years since, the youngster has shown that it was more than a flash in the pan. Today, Rashford is the club’s first-choice striker and has led the United line with distinction.
He has made 201 appearances for the club so far and has scored 64 goals and 34 assists so far. Capable of playing anywhere along the frontline, his versatility is an added bonus. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The list is led by French wonderkid and World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe. Valued at a mammoth €259.2million, he is comfortably ahead of 2nd-placed Raheem Sterling.
The next three slots are also filled by Englishmen, with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Rashford occupying the next three positions.
According to the report, Rashford is valued at €152.3million. This places him ahead of the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Harry Kane.
The second-highest placed United star is new signing Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese playmaker occupies 17th position with a value of €104.9million.
Interestingly, Daniel James is the third-highest United player with a valuation of €73.9million. This is around five times the amount the club paid for him just last summer.
