Manchester United have not won the English Premier League since 2012. Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, we have won just three trophies.

It appears we can now add more to that list. Or can we?

As confirmed by FBREF.con via the club’s official site, United now sit on top of the nutmeg table. The team has made 32 nutmegs so far this season, two more than Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The club positing the data on Twitter did not go down well with United fans. While some were sarcastic in their replies, others felt the club was clutching at straws.
