Brandon Williams to be offered new Manchester United contract
According to the Athletic, Manchester United are set to offer Brandon Williams a new contract.
The 19-year-old left-back has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford. He has played 26 times in all competitions since being given his debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Currently earning £4,000 per week, United chiefs are in talks to improve this significantly. The youngster last agreed on a contract with the club in October, less than a year ago. However, his rapid progress has made renegotiation a necessity.
The report goes on to claim that Williams will play an important part for United once the campaign resumes later this month. Although primarily a left-back, he is versatile enough to play further up the pitch or even the other flank.
In spite of his success, the youngster has his feet firmly planted on the ground. He has not forgotten his roots as he brought his father a Mercedes worth £40,000 to celebrate his birthday.
The heartwarming clip was shared by Twitter account @utdreport and quickly went viral with over 7,500 retweets and 58,000 likes.
Williams previously revealed that his family didn’t believe him when he was called up to the first-team squad for a Champions League trip to PSG last season.
United pulled off a famous comeback, which would have made the youngster’s experience all the more memorable.
